Hermione is the daughter of Muggles - which for some reason seems to be an acceptable discriminatory term amongst wizards whereas "Mudblood" isn't. Either way, she's a spanking good witch, and always manages to get some sort of magical effect whenever she waves her wand. Now if only she could get the effect to match what she intended, she'd be set. She thinks Harry is cool, and doesn't know why he hangs around with Ron.
